Microgrants

The goal of the Gobioff Foundation microgrant program is to enhance the cultural landscape of the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough and Pinellas counties) through small grants that encourage and make possible publicly accessible art projects and events.

Amount

The maximum grant amount an artist can apply for is $500. Transportation expenses cannot exceed $100 (or 20% of the budget).

The Gobioff Foundation will fund up to 4 grants per cycle, thus a maximum of $2000 per cycle (up to $8,000 per year).

Who May Apply

Each applicant must be an individual (artist or curator); not a group or nonprofit. Artists of any age, experience, or background are eligible to apply. You can only be awarded the grant once in any 12 month period.

Equity

Equitable outcomes are extremely important to the Gobioff Foundation. We strongly encourage artists that are LGBTQ+, Black, Asian, Latinx, Indigenous/Native American, or living with disabilities to apply. Additionally, in our effort to achieve equity, the Gobioff Foundation will contact any artists with an application deemed ineligible with an opportunity for them to correct their responses. Artists who need an alternative method of application are encouraged to contact us at grants@gobioff-foundation.org.

Timeframe

Funding is for projects that occur within 6 months following the month the grant recipient is announced.

Projects must not have happened before the date of notification.

Suspended

Due to the nature of the grant and the requirement for social distancing due to the COVID-19 virus, we are suspending the microgrant program until further notice.
